Top African footballer dies after being hit by motocycle

Ghana's division one side New Edubiase have confirmed the sudden death of midfielder Abdul Malik Yakubu. 

According to the club president Abdul Salam Yakubu, Yakubu died on the morning of Friday, November 22, 2019, when he had gone jogging.

It was gathered that Yakubu was conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi where he was taken for treatment but died minutes later. 

His untimely demise has thrown the entire football family in a state of grief and mourning.

The young footballer has been buried in accordance with Muslim law.
