Man city star dropped from England squad after training burst up with Liverpool player

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has been dropped from the England squad that will face Montenegro in Euro 2020 qualifiers after having a training ground bust up with Liverpool's Joe Gomez.

The bust up between these two players came barely 24 hours after Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-1 in a Premier League game played at Anfield.

In the encounter, Raheem Sterling also confronted Liverpool defender Joe Gomez on the pitch before being pulled back.

Raheem Sterling however took the feud to the national team where he confronted Joe Gomez again and left England coach Gareth Southgate with no other choice than to tell him to leave the camp.

According to the report on UK Mirror, witnesses are said to have heard Raheem Sterling asking Liverpool defender Joe Gomez whether he was "still the big man."

Gomez kept his cool and resisted getting involved but was left fuming by the row and was shocked that Sterling would react in such a way.

The report added that Raheem Sterling later apologized to his England teammate, but that does not change Gareth Southgate's decision from telling him to leave the squad.

"We have taken the decision to not consider Raheem for the match against Montenegro on Thursday.

"One of the great challenges and strengths for us is that we've been able to separate club rivalries from the national team. Unfortunately the emotions of yesterday's game were still raw,'' Gareth Southgate explained according to UK Mirror.
