Lampard begs Chelsea chiefs to give 1 star a new deal for him not to leave in January

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has enjoined the Blues' chiefs to extend the stay of Brazil international Willian at the club so as for him not to leave in January 2020.

Willian was superb for Chelsea at the beginning of last season under Maurizio Sarri, but he lost his form towards the end of the term even though the Blues won the Europa League title.

And this term under Frank Lampard, the Englishman has been able to get the best out of the Brazilian winger and he now wants him to be given a new deal.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of the season which means Willian is free to talk with any interested club when the January transfer window opens.

According to the report on UK Sun, Frank Lampard has tabled Willian's matter in front of Chelsea board telling them that the Brazilian is an important member of his squad.

"I can't get involved in the money, that's up to the club, but I think everyone sees from what I'm saying, and I'm relying on him and picking him and he's producing.

''I love him at this football club,'' Frank Lampard explained according to the report on UK Sun.

Spanish giants Barcelona and Juventus are said to be interested in signing Willian with Sarri wanting to have a reunion with the Brazilian.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently occupying third position on the Premier League standings with 26 points after 12 games.
