Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has said that he was proud of his players' performances following his side's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
According to Guardiola, Man City was defeated by the strongest team in Europe.
Goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ensured Liverpool defeated Man City.
However, Bernado Silva did score for Pep Guardiola's side at Anfield.
"Our performance, it was so good," Guardiola told Sky Sports.
"What happened today showed why we are champion. I am so proud of my team, more than ever.
"We can be proud of how we played against the strongest team in Europe.
"Always we try, never give up that is why we are back-to-back champions. Always fight until the end."
Guardiola's men are now nine points behind leader Liverpool in the Premier League table.
