Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang closing in on remarkable record set by Thierry Henry after scoring against Tottenham

It often goes unsaid that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a remarkable signing for Arsenal.

The Gabon international boasts a phenomenal record for the Gunners since his £56million move from Borussia Dortmund, netting 35 goals in just 53 Premier League appearances.

In fact, the pacy striker is closing in on an Arsenal record currently held by Thierry Henry.

Following his expertly taken goal in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Spurs, the 29-year-old has now scored in seven successive league starts at the Emirates.

Henry netted in nine consecutive games at Highbury, but if Aubameyang continues his hot-streak that record could be broken soon.

After visiting Watford after the international break, Arsenal then have two home matches against Aston Villa and Bournemouth - and you'd be a fool not to back against him continuing his form in those matches.

Despite levelling the game, Arsenal were unable to claim three points against their bitter rivals and boss Unai Emery believes his side deserved to win the match.

Speaking to talkSPORT Ian 'The Moose' Abrahams, Emery said: "When we were losing 2-0, we can be happy after it's 2-2, but I think in 90 minutes, we deserved it more.

"We created more chances to score and I think we played looking at their goal, and also, being very aggressive against them.

"They used our mistakes for their two goals, and after our response was amazing.

"Our supporters supported us and pushed us to do that and really that point is not enough, but it's the way."

Emery reckons Arsenal can be even better than their dominating second-half performance.

He said: "We can progress, we can be optimistic and today we showed that and really I am very ambitious and demanding of myself.

"The draw is not enough, but this is the way, and we are going to speak about that.

"The chances we created today and how we played, this is the way."
