Barcelona remain 'far' away from completing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar after seeing their latest bid turned down by the Ligue 1 giants.
The Brazilian is desperate to return to the Nou Camp after two unhappy years in the French capital.
Barcelona lodged a bid worth over £130m for Nemyar in the last week and were willing to offer Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele in exchange.
The Catalans were confident that that would be enough to sign the 27-year-old, who joined PSG for a world record £199.5m move in 2017.
However, PSG rejected the bid and want a higher initial fee of around £154m before considering a deal, according to AS.
Given Dembele joined Barcelona for around £110m and Rakitic's market worth is around £35m, the deal for Neymar could be close to around £300m if Barcelona pull it off.
Dembele, for his part, has dampened speculation that he could be on the move but his future at the club appears bleak if Neymar is to rejoin.
Barcelona have already spent big on Antoine Griezmann this summer and Dembele's playing time would reduce further with Neymar in the frame.
