Manchester United will make a move to sign Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona, if Paul Pogba leaves the club, Sport reports.
Pogba has emerged as Zinedine Zidane's no.1 target this summer, with the LaLiga club optimistic a deal will be done before the new season begins.
With Madrid enduring a miserable preseason so far, Zidane is more determined to land his compatriot from United.
Should the move happen, United will then try to sign Rakitic.
Barca value the Croatian midfielder at 45million and are looking to reduce their squad size.
It is believed this week could prove decisive, with a transfer merry-go-round set to be put into motion if Pogba leaves.
