Gareth Bale will end his Real Madrid nightmare after agreeing a lucrative move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning worth more than £1million-a-week.
According to reports, the Wales international is in the final stages of negotiations ahead of his move to the Far East which will see him almost double his current £600,000-a-week wages in Spain.
According to The Telegraph, a deal is set to be completed in the next few hours and Bale will sign a three-year deal.
Owing to his already mammoth wages, European clubs were reluctant to sign the 30-year-old and rumours of a move to Manchester United were pure specultaion.
A source close to the former Tottenham Hotspur star described the Jiangsu offer as 'unbelievable'.
To put the deal into comparison, Lionel Messi is the best-paid player in the world on £1.7m-a-week and Bale will not be far off that.
Zinedine Zidane wanted Bale out of Madrid, but the former Tottenham Hotspur man was content to see out the remaining three years of his deal in the Spanish capital.
The Frenchman effectively ended Bale's Real career after last Sunday's pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich by saying: "He wasn't included in the squad because the club is working on his departure and that's why he didn't play.
"We'll have to see what happens in the coming days. We'll have to see if it goes through tomorrow, if it does then all the better. Let's hope, for everyone's sake, that it happens soon. The club is dealing with the club that he'll move to."
Despite coming off the substitutes bench and scoring against Arsenal, Zidane then gave Bale the silent treatment, choosing not to try to explain the situation with him personally or find out what the player wanted.
In six years at Madrid, Bale collected four Champions League winners medals and a LaLiga title - justifying his world record £86m fee and making him the most successful British export in football.
Ezequiel Lavezzi is China's highest-paid player on £500,000-a-week at Hebei China Fortune, but Bale's deal will dwarf the Argentine's pay packet.
