Frank Lampard was delighted with Christian Pulisic's Chelsea debut against Kawasaki Frontale.
Chelsea fans have waited a long time for a first glimpse of the USA international winger in action, given he was signed back in January at a cost of £58million.
The 20-year-old was loaned back to Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of last season and only linked up with his new teammates earlier this week following his involvement in the CONCACAF Gold Cup earlier this summer.
Pulisic was introduced as a 65th minute substitute against the J League side and immediately caught the eye with his dribbling ability and willingness to take opponents on.
'Good, good,' said Lampard when asked to assess Pulisic's contribution in a 1-0 defeat. 'He has been here a couple of days really in terms of training, so have been really impressed.
'He's comfortable on the ball and I think he should have had a penalty towards the end of the game.
'He wants to try to take people on, the sort of player the fans are going to like so we have to give him a little bit of time to adapt slightly.
'But the way he has trained, the way he has come in with his personality looks great so I am really pleased to have him.'
