Alex Iwobi responds to Arsenal's moves for Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Carrasco

Alex Iwobi has welcomed the addition of 'great' players such as Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal's ranks.

Unai Emery is looking to strengthen in central defence, at left-back and on the wing this summer despite only having a budget of around £40million following Arsenal's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

The Gunners have bid £40m for Zaha, 26, and Crystal Palace were reportedly left 'furious' and 'incensed' by the offer for a player they have no intention of selling.

Carrasco has also been heavily linked in recent weeks, but Dalian Yifang have informed Arsenal that the 25-year-old Belgium international is not for sale.

Asked if such rumours raised questions about his future at Arsenal, Iwobi told Goal: 'I don't have any idea of going anywhere else, I'm an Arsenal player.

'For a big club like Arsenal, you mentioned two great players so it will be exciting to have them.

'I don't know anything that's going on behind closed doors.'

Iwobi thanked Emery for giving him the opportunities to prove himself in the Spaniard's first season as manager.

'I was involved quite a lot last season,' Iwobi said.

'Obviously you want to start as many games as you can but it doesn't work that way when you have a team like Arsenal, you just have to do well and whenever the opportunity comes, do your best.

'I just have to say thank you for the opportunity he is giving me.

'I'm happy to play anywhere [for Arsenal], I'll play wherever I'm told to play.

'I've always seen myself as a midfielder, like an attacking midfielder but I'll always give my best whether I'm told to play in the middle or somewhere else.'
