Leicester will not sell Harry Maguire to Manchester United for less than £90million, talkSPORT understands.
The Red Devils today saw their initial £70million bid immediately rejected by the Foxes, who are demanding a world record fee for a defender.
United will have to break the bank to sign Maguire
Maguire, the 26-year-old England international, has four years remaining on his current deal at the King Power Stadium and Leicester are under no pressure to sell.
talkSPORT can now reveal the Foxes are asking for a sum which would comfortably eclipse the £75million Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.
Manchester City are also interested in signing Maguire, however the Premier League champions are unlikely to pay £90m to land the centre-back.
Leicester know United would consider paying up to £90m as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bids to strengthen the club's leaky defence.
The Red Devils conceded a staggering 54 Premier League goals last season as they stumbled to a sixth place finish.
United have now prioritised the signing of a commanding centre-half after the £50million arrival of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Napoli cente-back Kalidou Koulibaly has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, however the Italian club would also demand a world record fee, with the 28-year-old valued at around £85milllion.
