Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has finally revealed who is to blame for Barca's Champions League failure.
Barcelona were defeated 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League semi-final second leg having won the first 3-0 at Camp Nou.
However, Fox Sports is now reporting that Messi believes that Barcelona's failure against Jurgen Klopp's side was not their manager, Ernesto Valverde, but attacking midfielder, Philippe Coutinho.
The report claimed that Coutinho has had Messi's backing despite his continued failures at Nou Camp but the Argentine captain has run out of patience for the former Liverpool star.
Meanwhile, Coutinho was slammed by former Real Madrid boss, Fabio Capello, for his performance in their shocking Champions League defeat to Liverpool.
The Brazilian struggled to make an impact on the game and was replaced after 60 minutes by Nelson Semedo.
"Valverde was a bit presumptuous in playing the same team from the first leg.
"For me, Coutinho didn't have to play. He does nothing away from home," Capello told Sky Sports Italia.
