Jose Mourinho has admitted that Zinedine Zidane is "the best person" for Real Madrid, despite being linked with a return to the club himself.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss was widely speculated to make over from the sacked Santiago Solari earlier this month, only for Florentino Perez to bring Zidane back.
The Frenchman won three successive Champions Leagues at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Mourinho says that there is a lot more to come from him.
"I do not think we can talk about a career for him yet.
"But in a very short time, he did what no one had done before, that is winning three consecutive Champions Leagues.
"Now he is starting a new step in his career. He has to build a team, he has to make choices, buy players, sell them. He has to train them, give them his philosophy of play.
"I think he's probably the best person for this club," Mourinho told Canal Plus.
