Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been hailed by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney who believes the Norwegian football manager has been impressive since he replaced Jose Mourinho.
Solskjaer has left Manchester United to 14 wins in his 19 games in charge since taking over as interim boss after Jose Mourinho was fired in December 2018.
Manchester United are expected to name a permanent manager at Old Trafford at the end of the season in which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is tipped as the favorite.
The Red Devils have also been linked with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, but Rooney believes his former United team-mate cannot be overlooked.
"He has gone in with simplicity and has brought belief back to the fans.
''Solskjaer has made the place enjoyable again to go into work every day. The staff around Carrington are enjoying working there again and that does rub off.
"When you see the staff happy around the players, it makes it a happy environment to work in.
"He is doing a fantastic job and I'm sure he is the only candidate for Manchester United to take that job and it will be great to see him get it and bring some of the players he wants to bring in and keep moving the club forward,'' Rooney explained according to Express UK.
Manchester United are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings with 58 points after 30 games played this term.
