Alex Iwobi finally explains what Hamari Traore did to him before bad breath gesture

Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi has finally spoken on the incident that happened on the pitch between him and Rennes star Hamari Traore where the Nigerian held his nose in a stand off.

Iwobi and his Arsenal's teammates beat Rennes at the Emirates stadium to qualify for the quarterfinal of the 2018/19 Europa League.

But towards the end of the game, Alex Iwobi appeared to have told Malian defender Hamari Traore that his breath smells after coming one on one with the player.

Iwobi was attacked after the match on social media by football fans who claimed that the Super Eagles star should not have done what he did to a fellow black player.

The 22-year-old has now explained that Hamari Traore was cursing him and his mother on the pitch during the Europa League clash.

"The guy was fouling me, cussing me and my mum,"

wrote Iwobi in response to a fan who asked him to publicly apologize via Snapchat.

"He was putting middle fingers up at me. They won't catch that or say anything about that but they will quickly say something to me, I'm sorry bro but I won't.''.
