Paul Pogba is in line to be named Manchester United's new captain after this season, the UK Sun reports.
The France midfielder wore the armband at the beginning of this term, but soon fell out with Jose Mourinho, who went on to strip him off the vice-captaincy role in September.
With Mourinho replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Antonio Valencia leaving Old Trafford, Pogba is set to be handed the role.
It is believed Solskjaer who may keep the manager's job beyond the end of the season, sees Pogba as the man to replace Valencia on a long-term basis.
Ashley Young has frequently skippered United in Valencia's absence, but Solskjaer acknowledged Pogba's potential for the position earlier this season.
"You can see what winning the World Cup meant to him, so for me, yes, Pogba's captain material," the Norwegian said.
