Nike were in a fix after United States basketball teenage sensation Zion Williamson's shoe dismantled in front of A-list celebrities as Duke University played local rivals North Carolina.

Several VIP's from Barrack Obama, Spike Lee, Floyd Mayweather to Jay Z and other Holly Wood bigwigs including top US athletes were in the house.

Williamson, who has been tipped to be the next big star since Lebron James came into the game, was left with an injury to his knee 33 seconds into the game.

And as for the 18-year-old fancy Nike sneaker - it now resembled some kind of slipper or sleek open shoe after embarrassingly falling apart.

It was a moment that will linger for a while in the eyes of those in attendance after Zion's hightop's tore exposing his toes and sole, as he attempted to dribble away from his opponents.

The freshman was forced to limp off the court ending his game after dropping to the floor in pain, unable to continue.

Williamson has been averaging 22.4 points per game and is turning heads in a similar fashion that Lebron once did while still a young teen in Akron, Ohio.
