Gareth Bale who plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid is now on the verge of being hit with a 12-match ban following his gesture after scoring against Atletico Madrid.
Last Saturday, the former Tottenham star netted Real Madrid's third goal against their city rivals in the 74th minute, which was also his 100th goal for Los Blancos.
But after scoring, Gareth Bale made a gesture raising a bent arm, and hitting it with his other hand.
The action has now made the La Liga body livid and they have told the Spanish Football Federation for the Real Madrid star to be sanctioned.
"In the celebration of Bale's goal, he waves his right arm to the proximity of his head, in a predictable sign of encouraging provocation to the public.
''Subsequently making a gesture of possible obscene and contemptuous meaning, raising the bent arm and hitting the middle of it with the other hand.
"The possible sanctions for these provocations vary.
"If it occurs, the offender will be sanctioned with suspension of four to twelve games, if the animosity of the public, the suspension will be from one to three parties or for a period of up to one month,'' the La Liga body told La Sexta.
Real Madrid are currently occupying second position on the Spanish La Liga standings with 45 points after 23 games played this season.
