Chelsea star N'Golo Kante has reportedly offered to finance the search of missing Cardiff City player Emiliano Sala and his pilot.
The 28-year-old recently joined the Premier League side from Nantes but was on his way to Wales from France to start training with his new side before his plane disappeared on Monday, January 21.
The news sent football world into panic as all efforts to locate the plane or the passengers remain unfruitful.
However, rescue operation has been carried out but there was no sign of the plane and the two passengers are yet to be rescued.
After embarking on a three day search of the English Channel, the rescue team gave up all hopes, while authorities also said they were "no longer actively searching" for the missing plane.
Football stars including Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero have however called on the authorities to resume the search for the Sala and the pilot.
A private search after a crowdfunding campaign is also said to have been launched, with Kante the latest addition to the list of top footballers calling for the search mission to resume.
According to reports, the Chelsea star is keen to fund the search for his former teammate while at Caen in 2015 from his own pockets.
