Adrien Rabiot has emerged as top priority signing for Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur this month.
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move away from his Paris Saint Germain following his refusal to sign contract extension at the club.
Rabiot's present deal with the Parisians is due to expire at the end of the ongoing season having refused to extend his stay at the Parc Des Princes beyond this summer.
However, Mauricio Pochettino's side are hoping they can lure they want away midfielder to the Wembley Stadium pending the time they sort out their stadium issues.
According to SunSport, the deal will only pull through if PSG secures the signature of Everton star Idrissa Gana Gueye before the transfer window wraps up.
The publication also reports that the 23-year-old has been training with the club's U23 for the past couple of months by the coach Thomas Tuchel.
Barcelona are other team interested in the midfielder as they are said to have secured a pre-contract offer to take Rabiot in the summer, but nothing positive has been confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, the Catalans completed the signing of highly rated Dutch youngster Frenkie De Jong in a deal worth €75 million this week.
PSG would rather sell Rabiot for a bargain £20m on than allow him to leave on a free at the end of the season.
