West Ham United have joined the race to sign Nigerian striker, Josh Maja in the January transfer window.

The likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Wolves, Huddersfield Town Crystal Palace have all shown interests.

The Mirror UK reports that West Ham are among the Premier League clubs preparing a bid for the former Super Eagles invitee.

His current contract with Sunderland comes off in June 2019.

There are also suitors in the Championship and German Bundesliga for the 20-year-old forward.

Maja is valued at five million pounds and is a player in demand.

He is Sunderland's top scorer in the league and tallied his 16th goal of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Sunderland have the intention of selling Maja within the next eleven days or risk losing him for a little compensation in the summer.
