Real Madrid fans lose patience as they send important message to Florentino Perez

Real Madrid fans have come out of their shell calling for Florentino Perez resignation during Wednesday's Copa del Rey last 16 first leg with Leganes.

Despite recording a 3-0 win, their first in the New Year, Los Blancos faithfuls are still not happy with the situation of their club this season.

The Bernabeu recorded its lowest turn out with 44,231 in attendance, as a few came to see their team carry a three-goal advantage to the second leg.

As at the time the scoreline was 0-0 in the first half, there were chants of "Florentino, dimisión" meaning "Florentino, resign" from a group of fans above the press box.

These group of supporters making those chants are called Ultras Sur, and despite being banished from the stadium, they were still venting their anger at Real president.

There were also lukewarm chants at the Bernabeu during last weekend's 2-0 loss to Real Sociedad but a more noticeable one filled the air in the midweek clash.

The last time there were such actions was when Rafa Benitez's was in charge in 2015 and Perez sacked him before bringing in Zinedine Zidane.

What looked like a gamble ended up becoming a well executed masterplan as Zidane won three consecutive Champions League titles.

But with the sale of star man Cristiano Ronaldo and Zidane last summer, Los Merengues have been struggling as present manager Santiago Solari took over from Julen Lopetegui a few weeks in charge.

Real Madrid president is running out of credit and idea amid the club's current crisis but it does seem like he is ready to resign.
