Arsenal and Leicester City have been linked with a move for Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze, The Sun reports.
According to the report, both Premier League clubs could make a move for the 19-year-old when the transfer window opens next month.
However, Villarreal are taking the speculation very serious and have stepped up their efforts to tie Chukwueze down with a bigger deal.
Villarreal's new coach, Luis Garcia admitted that Chukwueze is an important player in his team after watching the youngster score a wonder goal in the Europa League against Spartak Moscow.
Chukwueze has featured in 22 first-team appearances for Villarreal, finding the back of the net on six occasions.
He made his senior debut for Nigeria in October against Uganda during a friendly game played at the Stephen Keshi international stadium in Asaba.
