Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has made it clear that French club Paris-Saint-Germain will not allow Brazilian football star Neymar to leave the club for a return to the Spanish La Liga.
18 months ago, Neymar left current Spanish champions Barcelona for a world record move to PSG, and ever since he moved to France, he has been linked with a return to Spain.
Real Madrid were in July this year said to be looking for his signature as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who has joined Italian champions Juventus.
Messi is desperate to link up with his former co-star, but admits a transfer would be difficult to pull off for his club.
"I see it as complicated. We would love him to come back for what he means, both as a player and for the locker room.
"We are friends, we have lived very nice moments, others not so much, but we have spent a lot of time together.
"However, I find it very difficult for Neymar to even leave Paris. PSG are not going to let Neymar get taken away,'' Messi told Marca.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Neymar has a release clause of €160m (£143m) that can be activated in 2020.
