Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has finally identified 20-year-old Lyon star, Houssem Aouar as midfielder, Fernandinho's replacement at Etihad.
The 33-year-old Fernandinho is in the latter stages of his career at City.
The Brazilian has been a key figure in Guardiola's team so far this campaign.
According to Daily Mail, Guardiola has now made Aouar his number-one target to be the long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
The report also claimed that the former Barcelona gaffer may likely sign Aouar at the end of the season.
Guardiola singled out the French-Algerian star for praise, following City's 2-2 draw with Lyon in the Champions League encounter few weeks ago.
Guardiola's men will tackle Crystal Palace on Saturday evening in the Premier League fixture at home.
