Jurgen Klopp have admitted that there were two teams in particular that he was keen for Liverpool to avoid in the Champions League last-16 after his side were drawn against Bayern Munich.
Courtesy of their nervy 1-0 victory over Napoli at Anfield last week, Liverpool sneaked into the knockout stages as runners-up in Group C, behind group winners PSG.
That meant that they could have faced any of the other group winners with the exception of Manchester City and they ended up with Bayern, who edged out Ajax in Group E.
Klopp acknowledged that Bayern would represent difficult opposition but insisted he would have been more worried to face his former side Borussia Dortmund or Juventus.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool's game against Wolves on Friday night, Klopp said: 'There were only two clubs I didn't fancy.
'Dortmund, that early, and a little bit of Juventus. They are so experienced and it is their defence is very experienced. It will be really difficult to beat Juve this year.
'Bayern is really nice for our supporters. I am not sure if many Liverpudlians were at the Audi Cup but they should go. It's really nice.
'A few years ago, you would have heard Bayern Munich and think, 'wow, no chance.' But now we have a chance, and they know it as well.'
Klopp enjoyed a hugely successful spell with Dortmund prior to taking over at Liverpool in 2015, guiding the club to two Bundesliga titles, a German Cup and a Champions League final.
He has also faced them while in charge of Liverpool, beating them in the dramatic fashion over two legs in the Europa League quarter-final back in 2016.
Dortmund, who were drawn against Spurs, have enjoyed an exceptional season under Lucien Favre and lead the Bundesliga table, nine points clear of Bayern in third.
Juventus, meanwhile, topped their group containing Manchester United and have dropped just two points in Serie A this season, following Cristiano Ronaldo's move from Real Madrid.
