2018 Ballon d'Or: Andy Murray blows hot after Hegerberg was asked to twerk after winning award

Superstar tennis player, Andy Murray, has reacted angrily after Ada Hegerberg was asked to twerk after claiming the female version of the Ballon d'Or last night.

Hegerberg became the first player to win the female version of the award.

Her victory was overshadowed after she was asked to twerk by the award's presenter, DJ Martin Solveig.

After the ceremony, Solveig apologised and tried to clear up any misunderstanding over the lurid request.

But Murray expressed his fury with Solveig over how the situation unfolded.

In a statement he posted on his Instagram page, Murray said, "Why do woman still have to put up with that shit?

"What questions did they ask Mbappe and Modric

"I'd imagine something to do with football.

"And to everyone who thinks people are overreacting and it was just a joke... It wasn't.

"I've been involved in sport my whole life and the level of sexism is unreal."
