France international Ousmane Dembele has reportedly told Barcelona he wants to leave the club in January which could see Neymar return to the Nou Camp.
The 21-year-old came on as a substitute against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitan and scored a dramatic equalizer.
However, the Frenchman has struggled to hit form under Ernesto Valverde since joining the Catalans from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
According to Goal, the youngster has asked the board to let him leave in the January transfer window.
Recent reports have already suggested Barca have warned the forward to behave himself or risk being sold in the transfer window.
But Dembele's departure could pave way for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar and the Spanish champions are keen for a shock return for the Brazilian.
And it is understood that La Blaugrana have already held preliminary talks with the 28-year-old over a bid that will involve cash and Dembele.
Dembele's attitude recently has been questioned after missing a training session before the 4-3 loss to Real Betis. It was reported he had an all-night video game marathon with friends.
The World Cup winner has since struggled with recurring injury problems but that did not hinder his remarkable performance in the 1-1 draw against Atletico.
But the fact still remains Dembele could likely find himself behind Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho in the pecking order in Barca's frontline.
Spanish giants Barcelona have told Liverpool they will have to cough out a staggering £89million if they want to sign Ousmane Dembele.
According to SunSport, Jurgen Klopp is keen on offering the France international respite at Anfield after failing to get settled at Nou Camp.
