Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has identified Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, as David De Gea's replacement.
The Portuguese will target Pickford if De Gea, who has refused to sign a new contract, leaves Old Trafford, according to The Sun.
De Gea is yet to sign a new contract, and his current deal will expire next summer.
United are reluctant to trigger the 12-month extension of De Gea contract as they view it as a signal to rival clubs that they have been unable to persuade the 28-year-old to stay.
Juventus are interested in signing De Gea and United may be faced with the possibility of selling the Spain international.
The Sun reports that Mourinho is a huge admirer of Pickford and will make the England international his first-choice.
The newspaper also claims that Mourinho has the backing of his staff at United with his assessment of Pickford's ability.
Pickford has impressed at Everton after arriving in a £30 million deal from Sunderland in 2017.
