N'Golo Kante is on the verge of signing a new contract with Chelsea which will make him one of the top earners in the Premier League, according to reports in France.
The 27-year-old has become a key part of Chelsea's midfield since arriving from Leicester City and has won both the Premier League and FA Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Kante still has over two years remaining on his current contract but Chelsea are keen to reward the midfielder for his performances.
According to L'Equipe, Chelsea have begun talks with Kante over a new contract and are confident an agreement can be reached within the coming weeks.
The report also claims that Kante's new deal will make him one of the highest earners in the Premier League.
Earlier this week, Football Leaks revealed that Kante had refused to have part of his Chelsea salary paid into an offshore account in order to avoid tax.
An email from the midfielder's tax advisor to Chelsea read: 'N'Golo is inflexible, he simply wants a normal salary.'
