Michael Owen, McManaman blame one player for Liverpool 2-0 loss to Belgrade

Liverpool legends, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman have blamed goalkeeper, Alisson Becker for the club's 2-0 loss to Belgrade on Tuesday night.

The former stars slammed Alisson for his error against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League Group C clash.

Owen and McManaman noted that Alisson was in position to stop the second the goal.

Liverpool were already trailing to Milan Pavkov's towering header but their task was made even harder when Alisson afforded the striker space to blast the ball goalwards from 30-yards.

Alisson was also at fault for Alexandre Lacazette's equaliser against Arsenal on Saturday.

"Wijnaldum let him get away, he should just foul him there, Matip and van Dijk are just backing off and backing off and the keeper should have stopped it as well," Steve McManaman told BT Sport.

And his former Liverpool teammate Michael Owen added, "There's a catalogue of errors and as you say the goalkeeper could probably do better as well."
