Chelsea superstar Marcos Alonso has signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge thereby ending speculations that he could face the exits doors next year.
The 27-year-old left full back has been a revelation for the Blues since joining from Fiorentina two years ago.
His performances last season for Chelsea in the Premier League and Champions League caught the interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But these two teams will now have to look elsewhere for a left back when the January 2019 transfer window opens.
Chelsea however took to their social media page to confirm the latest development about Marcos Alonso.
"I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world.
"It's been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more,'' Alonso said.
Alonso has played in all Chelsea's Premier League games this season as the Blues remain unbeaten and sit third on the standings with 21 points.
