Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti insists Cristiano Ronaldo's switch to the Italian topflight will help Serie A regain its past glory, even as he jokingly admitted that the Portuguese superstar's only mistake was teaming up with Juventus.
According to a Goal .com report citing France Football, the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Ancelotti remains excited that another global icon, is presently plying his trade in the Italian topflight.
Already, the five-time world best football star has netted five times and set up four in nine matches in the Serie A, despite not getting off the block at the start after his summer arrival from the Los Blancos.
"The arrival of Cristiano is an excellent sign for the image of Serie A," the highly-rated Italian manager was quoted as saying by France Football.
"For a long time, it was the league of stars, Diego Maradona, Michel Platini, Zico, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Andriy Shevchenko, Kaka, Ibrahimovic... That was the case for at least 10 years. The arrival of Cristiano will restore its reputation.
