On Wednesday evening, Liverpool midfielder Fabinho finally made his full debut for the Reds almost four months to the day after the Premier League club announced he would be moving to Anfield for £39million.
Fabinho, the Brazil midfielder, arrived at Merseyside after five excellent years with Monaco, during which time he developed from a capable right-back into a superb defensive midfielder.
Fabinho finally made his first start for Liverpool - but it ended in defeat
Upon his signing, Liverpool fans were excited to see Fabinho take up the holding role in Jurgen Klopp's midfield, with many believing the 24-year-old was another piece of the jigsaw as Liverpool seek their first ever Premier League title.
However, Fabinho's time at Liverpool has, so far, been remarkably poor.
He has still yet to appear in any of the club's Premier League matches, and has only made two appearances to date; one of which came as an injury time substitute in Liverpool's Champions League defeat of PSG.
Klopp finally handed Fabinho his full debut on Wednesday evening, selecting him from the start for Liverpool's Carabao Cup third round clash against Chelsea.
He lasted 87 minutes of the match in a midfield trio alongside James Milner and fellow summer arrival Naby Keita, but failed to catch the eye.
He looked well off the pace of the game, and it is clear to see why Klopp has yet to risk him in the Premier League.
Most strikingly, Fabinho appeared to possess no real notable talents. His passing and tackling were average and he got around the pitch well, but there was nothing about his game that made him stand out - except for how poor he was.
Liverpool supporters were watching Fabinho's full debut with keen interest due to how long they had to wait for it, but social media was abuzz with negative comment after negative comment concerning his performance.
