Spanish League giants Real Madrid have confirmed that Isco will undergo operation after being diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
The 26-year-old has been impressive for Los Blancos having scored two goals an one assist in six appearances in all competitions for the Bernabeu side.
According to the Sun, he will be operated on in the next few hours, and the club confirmed in statement that:
"After the tests performed on our player Isco, he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. The player will be intervened in the next hours. "
However, his return date is yet to be known but he could miss three crucial matches in coming weeks.
He is expected to miss his side's clash against Sevilla on Wednesday and by extension the first Madrid derby for the season this weekend.
Dani Carvajal is also doubtful for the Galacticos mid week encounter after picking up muscle injury that made him miss Saturday's 1-0 win over Espanyol in the La Liga.
Meanwhile, they will continue their Champions League title defence when they travel to Russia next week to face CSKA Moscow.
They kicked off their campaign to win their 14th title with a 3-0 convincing victory over Italian side AS Roma last week.
Goals from Isco, Gareth Bale and Mariano sealed the victory for the current champions in the game.
Meanwhile, since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco has enjoyed more playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Isco has two goals in his last three games for Real Madrid but may be forced for a short spell on the sidelines as he recovers from the surgery.
