Premier League side Wolves have slapped a £110million price tag on star midfielder Ruben Neves to wade-off interest from Manchester City.

According to The Times, it now seems Wolves are trying to price City out of a move as they try to retain their Premier League status.

Pep Guardiola is looking to add quality into his midfield ahead of the congested season as move for Jorginho failed and the Italian joined Chelsea.

City only have Fernandinho in the defensive midfield position as the Citizens have turned their attentions to Neves.

And Wolves rich owners are not taking anything for granted to lose their most prized asset in January as they look to establish themselves in the Premier League.

It is also claimed the Portuguese star would need persuading to leave the Midlands club because of his role in the team under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Neves joined Wolves from FC Porto in a deal worth around £16m in 2017 before playing a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has already shown his class in the new season with a series of impressive performances to help Wolves take nine points from their opening six matches.

Neves has also been instrumental in Wolves' outing with the two top Manchester clubs where they shared the points.
