Sergio Aguero has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Manchester City until at least 2021.
The Argentine striker, who joined Manchester City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, is the Blues' all-time top goalscorer.
Aguero has scored 204 goals in 299 appearances for City and his new deal is worth £220,000-a-week.
'I am happy for this additional year,' he told CityTV. 'My idea was being here for 10 years. I've been here for seven years, it's going to be 10 when the contract expires.
'Hopefully, that's going to happen. This was the main reason I signed.'
Manchester City director Txiki Begiristain added: 'We are delighted that Sergio is extending his stay at City.
'He has been so important to this Club since his arrival in 2011 and he remains at the forefront of what we are want to achieve in the coming years.
'We are fortunate to have had one of the best strikers in the world at our Club for so many years and I'm sure our supporters will be thrilled with this news.'
Aguero, 30, has already scored five goals and provided two assists in six games for the Premier League champions this season.
He was unable to prevent City from suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, however.
Pep Guardiola's side travel to Cardiff City on Saturday.
