Premier League giants Manchester United and Real Madrid are leading the race for Inter Milan's Argentina ace Mauro Icardi ahead of the winter transfer window in January.
According to a UK Sun report, about six top clubs in Europe are keeping vigil to prize away the highly-rated forward from the Italian topflight.
A further breakdown of the bookies report revealed that Manchester United at 7/4 are behind the Los Blancos who are rated top contenders at 6/4 to seal a deal for the striker.
At the last count, Icardi, who netted a fantastic volley against Tottenham in Tuesday Champions League showdown, at the San Siro is also on Chelsea's radar at 3/1 ahead of three domestic champions- Barcelona, Man City and PSG.
Reacting on the development, Ladbrokes' Alex Apati revealed that it would be tough for San Siro dwellers to keep hold of the enterprising forward.
"Inter have done well to keep hold of Icardi for so long, and while they're pushing for a contract extension it's unlikely the Argentine will be in Serie A for much longer," Apati added.
Interestingly, Manchester United were reportedly linked with a £98m-rated switch to Old Trafford, but it did not see the light of the day.
Icardi, whose current deal at the Italian topflight side ends in the 2021, has netted 53 times in the last two campaigns.
