Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling is demanding a substantial £100,000 raise in his current £175,000-a-week deal that will expire in 2020.
According to a UK Times report, representatives of the Three Lions forward and Manchester City chiefs, will be locked in discussions over a new deal in the coming days.
The England international appears settled at City, but will not be asking for parity with the Citizens best-paid player, Kevin De Bruyne.
On the other hand, the Premier League defending champions are aware of the Financial Fair Play rule.
The Belgian, who penned an extension last January until 2023, would pocket a reported wages of £250,000 a week rising to £342,000 a week, including bonuses, image rights as well as a signing-on fee that will last the entire duration of his new contract.
