Leicester are in pole position to re-sign Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to reports.
The Chelsea midfielder is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge under new manager Maurizio Sarri following the arrivals of Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic over the summer.
He had failed to secure a starting spot under previous manager Antonio Conte following his £35million transfer 12 months ago, and it appears the Blues are now ready to cut their losses on the midfielder, according to The Sun.
According to the report, Chelsea are willing to sell Drinkwater for £20m but the Foxes are trying to negotiate a loan rather than a permanent deal.
Premier League rivals West Ham and Crystal Palace are also interested in a deal for the 28-year-old but neither have approached Chelsea yet.
Fellow Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is close to a loan move to AC Milan while defender Kurt Zouma has also been told he is free to leave the club.
Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi is also set for a second season on loan, with La Liga side Valencia showing interest in acquiring his services for the next 12 months.
