Chelsea will reportedly turn their attention to AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma should Alisson opt to join Liverpool this summer.
A growing number of reports claim the Blues are now on the brink of losing their number one shot stopper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.
The Belgium international has just one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and has suggested his preference is to return to the Spanish capital, where his young children live.
Reports suggest Real are close to completing a £31m deal for Courtois, with Spanish radio station Onda Cero even suggesting the La Liga giants have already starting planning a presentation ceremony for his official unveiling.
Chelsea would like to replace the Belgian with Roma's Alisson, but the Brazil international now appears poised to join Liverpool in a world record deal for a goalkeeper worth £66.8m.
Jurgen Klopp's side are still to agree personal terms with the 25-year-old but are said to be already making arrangements for his medical.
Should that deal go through, Chelsea will rekindle their interest in Milan's Donnarumma, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
The Rossoneri are keen to bring in an established centre-forward this summer, with Chelsea's own Alvaro Morata and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain linked with moves to the San Siro. However, they find themselves needing to sell to fund such moves.
Donnarumma could be key to that. The 19-year-old signed a new contract with Milan just last summer but the youngster's agent Mino Raiola has encouraged his client to find a new club.
Corriere Dello Sport claim the Blues could turn to the Italy international to solve a potentially huge problem facing the club and new manager Maurizio Sarri ahead of the new season.
