Napoli midfielder Jorginho is reportedly set to undergo a Chelsea medical on Thursday as he closes in on a £57m transfer to the capital.
It was confirmed by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Wednesday that the Blues have hijacked Manchester City's move for the Italian and, according to the Standard, he is now finalising proceedings.
Chelsea look set to now appoint former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as their new manager as part of the deal, relating to the fact he is still under contract with the club.
De Laurentiis said: "Sarri is close to being the new Chelsea manager.
"My lawyers are in talks with his lawyers to finalise everything.
When asked specifically about Jorginho, he added: "I have to apologise to Khaldoon (Al Mubarak, the Manchester City chairman), because I closed a deal with him 15 days ago.
"But Jorginho would prefer to live in London than Manchester, I can understand that and especially if Chelsea pay him more."
Jorginho was seen boarding a plane to London on Wednesday to complete his move to Chelsea.
