Arsenal are determined to sign Cristian Pavon this summer after reportedly seeing a transfer bid in January turned down.
The Argentina star suffered heartbreak in the World Cup with his country as his side were dumped out of the tournament by France in the last-16.
Despite criticism being leveled at Pavon and his team-mates for a below-par showing in the World Cup, the 22-year-old still has a soaring reputation.
Pavon played 75 minutes in the defeat to France and Arsenal were impressed enough to reignite their pursuit of the winger.
Spanish publication AS claim Boca Juniors rejected a £27million offer from Arsenal for Pavon at the start of the year.
Arsenal remain interested and Pavon's flashes of talent in Russia have convinced the Gunners of his quality.
Pavon signed a long-term deal with Boca Juniors only last year and is under contract at the club until 2022.
The Argentinian club will be reluctant to part with one of their best players, but are open to the idea of cashing in on Pavon.
Boca believe Pavon's price tag will only increase over the course of the summer and Arsenal may be in for a battle to keep the transfer fee down.

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is desperate to rejuvenate the squad he took over from Arsene Wenger and sees Pavon as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean quit Arsenal in January to join Manchester United and the London club has missed his directness and creativity.
Pavon could be the man to fill Sanchez's shoes, but Emery will need to sell before making any more purchases.
The arrivals of goalkeeper Bernd Leno and defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and impending signings of centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos and midfielder Lucas Torreira will drain Arsenal's transfer kitty.
