Gonzalo Higuain would be a perfect fit for Chelsea but will have to contend without playing Champions League football, according to an ex-Premier League goalkeeper.
The Blues have been linked with a swap deal which could see the misfiring Alvaro Morata move to Juventus.
The Evening Standard have claimed that the Old Lady have offered the west London club the opportunity to sign the 30-year-old in attempt to bring Morata back to Serie A.
And though current manager Antonio Conte is not expected to be at Chelsea come the start of the new campaign despite winning the FA Cup, former West Ham United and Newcastle United 'keeper Shaka Hislop says the move makes sense for all parties.
'I'll tell you what, I think this ticks a lot of boxes," Hislop told ESPN.
'I know Antonio Conte is there for the time being, but I don't expect him to be Chelsea manager at the start of next season.
'I still think they need an out-and-out, top-notch striker at Stamford Bridge.
'This makes sense, whether Higuain is happy to not play Champions League football, time will tell.'
Morata endured a tough maiden season in England following his big-money move to Chelsea, scoring just 15 goals in all competitions leading to his omission from Spain's World Cup squad.
But the Spaniard was highly thought of during his spell with Juventus, firing the club to successive Italian titles and into the 2015 Champions League final before moving back to Real Madrid.
Higuain remains one of Europe's premier marksman despite having entered his 30s, netting 23 times last season as Juve again won the Scudetto.
The veteran is part of the Argentina squad at this summer's World Cup but will compete with Sergio Aguero and Paulo Dybala for a starting berth in Jorge Sampaoli's starting XI.
