Reporter who posted IGP Ibrahim Idris' viral 'Transmission' video goes into hiding

Liberty Television reporter, Aminu Nurudeen who posted IGP's viral "Transmission" video has reportedly gone into hiding

It was gathered that upon the post of the now viral video capturing the blunder of the IGP in question, the reporter was summoned to the Kano State Police Command by the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Musa Magaji Majiya, on Thursday.

The journalist has not been spotted since he was summoned and his whereabouts are currently unknown

According to reliable sources, journalists covering the inauguration of the Police Technical Intelligence Unit in Kano, Kano State on Monday were instructed not to publish the video of the embarrasing blunder which brought an abrupt end to the event, leading the police chief's handlers to hurriedly usher him away from the venue of the event.

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Diaspora Matters, Abike Dabiri, on Twitter defended the IG, saying, "This video is definitely doctored."

Up until this time, there has been no proof that the video was doctored but several proof depicting that the authorities are taking to his defence.

In light of the current twist of events, a senior police officer, claimed that the Force had "the original version of the video," and he dismissed allegations that the police had invited the journalist that released the video.

Stating that the case is still under investigation, the officer sent "the original video" to a correspondent in PUNCH on Friday evening.

But Saturday PUNCH observed that though recorded at the same event, it did not capture where a man, who appeared to be the IG's personal assistant, assisted the police chief to check the speech he was presenting for correct pronunciation.
