Delta Court Imprisons Fake Lawyer For 22 Years

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ughelli Delta State on Tuesday imprisoned a fake lawyer, Anthony Obayendo without an option of fine.

The fake lawyer who was arrested on 4th of January was arraigned on eight-count charges bordering on alleged impersonation and obtaining by false pretense.

He pleaded guilty to count 7 after the charges were read to him by the Court.

Accordingly, the Investigating Police Officer, one Barr. Nelson of the legal Section, Zone 5 in Benin-City gave evidence of facts against the accused.

The Court in her judgement found the fake lawyer guilty of count 1 and sentenced him to three years imprisonment without option of fine.

The Court also found the accused guilty of 2 and sentenced him to four years imprisonment.

The Court also found him guilty on Counts 3,4,5,6 and 7 and sentenced him to three years imprisonment without option of fine.

The Court said the sentences are to run concurrently.
