The Police have revealed that they are taking steps to investigate a video circulating on social in which dancehall artiste Shatta Wale is seen firing a gun sporadically.
Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police, ACP David Eklu says what Shatta Wale did in the video could amount to an offence.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he noted that the act itself is an offence but the police would have to conduct further investigations.
"If you fire a gun without lawful and necessary reasons it is an offence," he said.
The Police PRO explained that they will have to examine the video very carefully since it could have been doctored.
"I have seen the video I don't know the circumstance under which the video was shot. For all we know it could have been tailored to create an impression," he said.
Shatta Wale, in a viral video that surfaced online on Tuesday, could be seen firing warning shots which were alleged to be directed at Nigerian artistes including Wizkid, Patoranking and Timaya.
Veteran hiplife artiste Tic Tac called for the arrest of Shatta Wale for publicly firing a gun into the air.
