According to a report by Daily Trust, a bar owner in Gwarinpa has inflicted machete cuts on her younger brother for allegedly harassing her sales girl.
The victim sustained injuries in his neck and stomach during a fight with his sister who owns a bar in an estate around Sixth Avenue on Sunday night.
A police source at the Gwarinpa Police Station said the brother, identified as Victor, approached the sales girl for a bottle of beer which she refused to give to him and that he started to harass her.
The source said the sales girl reported to Francesca, the bar owner, who then cautioned her younger brother.
"When she was cautioning him, before she knew what was happening, he went inside and brought a machete and attempted to attack her with it but she seizing it from him and struck him with it," the source said.
The source said the case was reported at the police station.
The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the suspect has been arrested.
He said the man was taken to a government hospital in Gwarin*pa, where the wounds were stitched and he was responding to treatment.
"We have arrested the sister. She is in our custody. None of them was drunk during the incident. The victim went there with intent to drink but he had not taken any drink before the incident happened," he said.
He said the sister sustained injury in her palm during the fight with her brother.
"She said she did it in self-defence because he was about to cut her with the machete when she grabbed it with her palm and used it on him," he said.
