A community in Kogi State has been plunged in shock as gunmen attack and kill a labour leader and some other persons in the area.
Some gunmen who are yet to be identified yesterday gunned down two persons in Okene, Kogi Central senatorial district.
According to Vanguard, amongst them is the State Chairman of the NationalAssociation of State University, Abdulmumini Yakubu and his younger brother.
Vanguard gathered that the killing took place around 7pm while worshippers were performing ablution for the night's prayers.
Yakubu and his younger brother, felled to the bullets of the gunmen while performing ablution in front of the house of the late State NASU Chairman.
The killing is also coming a day after one other person's was killed by unknown gunmen in the same town on Tuesday; a development that has now made residents live in fear.
While some persons alleged that the killing may be political, in view of the fact that the late NASU Chairman has been vocal and antagonist to government since the eight week old strike action commenced; the police however said they are still investigating his murder.
The development has also made labour to suspends its negotiations with the state government. They are presently locked in a marathon emergency meeting in the state capital to come up with a new position.
