Paris Saint-Germain have denied they offered Edinson Cavani a €1million incentive to allow Neymar to take penalties for the club.
Neymar and Cavani clashed during the 2-0 win over Lyon last week when the Brazilian wanted to take the penalty.
It was claimed in the Spanish media that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had moved to diffuse the bust-up by offering Cavani a bonus to give up his penalties responsibilities.
The €1m bonus is the sweetener Cavani is set to receive from the club should he finish as Ligue 1's top goalscorer.
Cavani reportedly rejected the offer and is being backed by his team-mates to keep his penalty privileges.
After the reports, Le Parisien claim that PSG have formally denied the reports after they enquired about the bonus story.
PSG were thought to be eager to ease the tension since the scenes during the Lyon victory.
Neymar and Cavani clashed over who was to take a set-piece before again arguing over who was designated penalty taker.
Cavani brushed Neymar off after being pushed off the set-piece by Dani Alves, but then saw his penalty saved.
Neymar did not play in PSG's game over the weekend as the French side drew a blank against Montpellier, but PSG manager Unai Emery said penalties will be shared between him and Cavani.
'Penalties will be taken by a couple of players,' said Emery. 'One is Edinson and the other is Neymar.
'There needs to be a gentlemen's agreement on the pitch when it comes to taking spot kicks.
'Apart from that, we will have to arrange things internally for when we get penalties because I believe that both are capable of converting them and I want them to alternate with this exercise.'
